Vision Week | Day 05

Judah’s history of kings was notoriously bad. There was corruption, rampant evil, and a lack of fear for God. Until King Hezekiah, the people of Judah were not following the Law God had set up. It was Hezekiah who restored the temple, purified the priest, and began to reestablish the ways of the Law in the Southern Kingdom of Judah. Yet, he still fell ill to human sickness. He cried out to God and through his faithfulness, God “turned weakness into strength” (Hebrews 11:34). Vision Week | Day 04

Today we are looking at the prophet Elisha and one of the miracles God performed through him. One of the accounts of faith that is found in Hebrews 11:35 states “women received back their dead…” Scholars point to the miracles of Elijah and Elisha found in 1 Kings and 2 Kings to be that reference. Both prophets gave mothers back their sons. Today we are looking at Elisha’s account because of the proactive and reactionary faith she possessed.  Read More

When reading Hebrews 11 yesterday, verse 32 says “And what more shall I say? I do not have time to talk about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets…” Because the author of Hebrews did not have the space, we are going to look at a few of the people mentioned. Known as the “Hall of Faith” chapter. Hebrews 11 recounts the history of the Israelites. It displays the faith of Old Testament characters. The author points out that these men and women were strong in faith when persecution and situations arose. The end result might have been victories and miracles. But some of them suffered beatings, imprisonment, and violent deaths for their faith.  Read More
