ASKED QUESTIONS

What is The Journey?

Upon arrival, you will head toward the Link to check in and be assigned to a larger group of people. You will make the journey to Bethlehem with this group.

You’ll begin the experience outside encountering the fearsome Roman Guards who are guarding the roads throughout the Roman Empire as everyone travels to their home village for the national census.  Along the outside trail you will encounter Mary and Joseph and see how they were visited by an angel messenger.

You will come upon the evil King Herod plotting and pacing in his palace. You will experience the sights, smells, and sounds in the Bethlehem marketplace. And then you'll follow shepherds to find the baby Jesus lying in a manger.

What Time Should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your time slot to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the check in area at the Link Building.

Where do I go Once I arrive?

Once you have parked, please head toward the lake to begin your Journey. Shuttles are available at specific pick-up/drop-off locations along the front sidewalk of the main building as well as the Adult Ministry Center.

How long is The Journey experience, registration to exit?

Once your Journey has begun, you can expect the experience to be approximately 1 ½ hours in length, during non peak times.  The second and third weekends of the production are generally busier. Peak times may be longer.

Is there a lot walking?

The Journey experience is roughly a quarter of a mile on a cleared path through the woods. Due to the nature of the outdoor trails, we encourage those worried about walking this path after after it's gotten dark to join us for a matinee. Mobility assistance is only available during matinee times on Saturday, Dec 09.

How should I dress for The Journey?

Since The Journey experience is outside, guests should dress with the winter weather in mind.  Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Is The Journey suitable for young children?

Young children will definitely enjoy The Journey!

Please note that strollers are not allowed on The Journey trail. We have a stroller parking area near the entrance.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Advance ticket purchase is recommended as it will speed up your registration time. However, tickets will be available for purchase on site until the maximum visitor capacity for each night is reached.

I purchased a ticket for a specific date and/or time, but now I can't come on that date or at that time. What should I do?

Send us an email!
We can swap the time/date for one that works better or, if you aren't sure when you need to change it to, we can refund your ticket so that you are able to re-register at your convenience.
