Because someone is about to walk in for the first time.

Every week, more than 8,000 adults gather across our campuses. Some have been coming for years. Others are still deciding whether church is for them. What they’re all looking for is a place where God feels real and people actually know their name.

Right now, some of our spaces are full. Kids’ rooms are tight, Sunday mornings are crowded, and in some places a new face has to hunt for a seat. We don’t want anyone to wonder if there’s room for them.

So we’re building: a new campus to reach people we haven’t met yet, and updates to the spaces we already have, so every kid, student, and guest feels expected from the moment they park. This is about more people hearing the good news and finding joy that lasts.

What happens when there’s room

Real stories from people at Compassion who found a seat. Someone made room for them. Here’s what it meant.

See what’s ahead

Some of these are brand new. Some are the rooms where you first showed up. All of them are being made ready for who’s next. And because who’s next isn’t only who walks through our doors, 10% of every gift goes to reaching people beyond them, in Poland and here at home.

be part of the joy

Before anything gets built, we’re asking God to go first. Pray for the people who will walk through these doors, and for the families and neighbors we haven’t met yet.
Before any gift is given, we’re asking you to pray about what your part might be, then tell us. A commitment is simply a promise you make to God and your church about what you plan to give toward this, over time. It helps us plan with confidence, and it helps you give with a plan of your own.

Commit To Give

Pray

Serve

Building takes time, and Sundays keep happening in the meantime. Every person who walks in deserves someone glad to see them, and that someone could be you.

At Effingham, we’re moving to simultaneous services while we build, which means two services at once and twice the need for servant hearts. And it’s not just Effingham. Every one of our campuses can use more serve team members. Whether you can give one Sunday a month or every week, there’s a spot where you’ll matter.
What is a commitment?
It’s a prayerful decision about what you plan to give toward For The Joy over [pledge period]. It helps us plan with confidence, and it helps you give with a plan of your own.
Is this in addition to my regular giving?
Yes. We’re asking you to pray about giving to this beyond your regular giving, so the ministry that’s already happening keeps going strong.
How much should I give?
We’d never name your number for you. Pray about it, talk it over with your family, and choose an amount that feels like a real step without causing stress.
What if my situation changes?
Life happens. If something changes, just reach out to [contact] and we’ll talk it through.
When do I actually give?
Right now we’re just asking for your commitment. When giving opens, we’ll let you know how it works and when it begins, and you can choose how to give.
Will I feel out of place?
If we're honest— maybe. It’s normal to feel a little out of place the first time you visit a new place. But there’s no expectation or commitment here. Our hope is just to offer a bit of light in your week.

Have fun, snap a few pictures with your family, and experience the hope that Easter offers us.

Someone is about to
walk in

They’ll be nervous, maybe a little unsure. They’ll be looking for a face that’s glad to see them and a room that has space for them. You can help make sure both are waiting.
