Requests for Hurricane Relief from our community are increasing rapidly as people return from evacuation and get approval from their insurance companies to start working in their homes. We need as many people as we can muster to get out into our community to show some courageous compassion. Everyone aged 13+ is welcome, but all those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Meet at the East Campus at 8 a.m. where we’ll split into teams and receive assignments. You can stay as long as you are able. The biggest need we are seeing is to clean out homes damaged by flooding. Work will include yard clean up, removing furniture and household items, pulling up flooring, and cutting out Sheetrock and insulation. We also need people to encourage, comfort and pray with homeowners as well as sort belongings. If specialized skills are required, we will assign skilled individuals to that team.
Every team will have a leader as well as basic supplies and safety gear (vented, mold-safe masks & gloves). However, if you can bring any of the following, please do:
If you’d like to lead one of these teams, please email Jason at firstname.lastname@example.org.
