Getting Ready For The Week | Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

February 09 - February 13, 2026
Getting Ready For the Week
Loving others doesn’t always look big. It often looks ordinary such as a kind word, a helping hand, forgiving first, slowing down to see someone who feels unseen. The way we treat people is one of the clearest ways we show our love for God.
Examples In Scripture
God’s Word is rich and full of examples of love, sometimes it feels complex or overwhelming. One helpful way to grow is to read different stories and notice how they connect. This week, we’re looking at six Bible stories that show the second greatest command: love your neighbor as yourself.
Each day, read the story, reflect on it, and ask: How does this show love for others?
Monday:
Read: Luke 10:25–37 – The Good Samaritan helped a stranger others ignored. Pause and ask: How can I show unexpected compassion today?
Tuesday:
Read: Ruth 1–4 – Ruth stayed with Naomi through hardship. Reflect: How can loyalty or small acts of care show love to someone this week?
Wednesday:
Read: Genesis 45 – Joseph forgave his brothers. Think: Who might need forgiveness or grace from me today?
Thursday:
Read: John 13:1–17 – Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. Ask: What humble act of service can I do for someone this week?
Friday:
Read: Matthew 14:13–21 – Jesus fed 5,000 people. Reflect: How can I meet someone’s real needs today?
Weekend Bonus:
Read: Acts 2:42–47; Acts 4:32–35 – Early believers shared everything. Ask: How can generosity or community-building show love around me this weekend?
