Reading For Wednesday | Hebrews 10 | Luke 5:17-25
Hebrews 10 helps us unpack the unfathomable, all-sufficient sacrifice of Jesus. We are fully cleansed of our sin by putting our faith in His death and resurrection. It is a free gift we need only receive. There is nothing we can do to earn His love and forgiveness.
And yet, Hebrews 10:24–25 encourages us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Why? Not because we have to continue earning His grace, but because this is the natural response to such an extravagant, life-changing gift—a life of gratitude and obedience. How could we keep something so incredible to ourselves?
In Luke 5, the four friends worked together to bring their friend to Jesus, demonstrating the power of community in faith. It is only natural to bring those we love—who are broken and hurting—to the feet of the One from whom we ourselves received healing.

JOURNALING & REFLECTION
REFLECT:
Reflect on the role of community in your own faith journey. Consider how you can partner with others in your church or community to reach the lost. Pray for opportunities to collaborate in missions, knowing that together, you can achieve more for God’s kingdom.
Maybe you haven’t been called to be a cross-cultural missionary or to start a local ministry effort, but we all have a role to play in God’s Kingdom work—both in our own community and around the world. How can you encourage and participate as a sender or supporter of others in their mission efforts?

- What role has community played in bringing you to Jesus and sustaining you in your faith journey?
- Consider taking a tangible step this week—praying for one of our Outreach Partners, giving to Faith Promise, or serving alongside one of our partners in a local or global mission field. What time, gifts, or resources might you be called to sacrifice in order to become an active participant in God’s mission?
PRAYER PROMPT
“Lord Jesus, thank You for Your perfect sacrifice and the gift of forgiveness. Fill me with gratitude that moves me to love, serve, and share Your hope with others. Use me and my community to shine Your light in the world. Amen.”
