EASTER - GETTING READY FOR THE WEEK

SUNDAY, APRIL 20
READING: JOHN 20
Easter is the celebration that through Jesus, that which was dead can become alive. That which was old can be made new because of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Those who were Jesus’ closest followers knew He was special but failed to see the magnitude of His mission. Luke captures this best when he shares the story of those disciples walking with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. Luke tells us that “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself” (Luke 24:26 NIV).
Have you ever wondered what that conversation was like? Walking with Jesus as He unfolds the stories of the Old Testament to explain what God has been working towards throughout history. Over the course of this week, we will explore how Jesus is the fulfillment of the covenants that God made with humanity. We want to become well acquainted with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David as we discover how Jesus can take that which is old and make it new!
