YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE

SUNDAY, APRIL 6
READING: MATTHEW 7:21-29
SO WHAT WILL IT BE?
Jesus offers us a whole new reality - a good life. We’ve spent the past 14 weeks walking through what that looks like together. From how we are called to be salt and light to how we can keep his commands, deal with anger, resist temptation, act generously and more. We’ve been challenged and called to greater things as Jesus teaches us about what it looks like to be a part of the Kingdom of Heaven.
As we come to the final section of the Sermon on the Mount we are faced with a decision, a big one - what are we going to do next? How will we choose to continue? Will we be any different after studying these truths? How will it impact us, our relationships, our work, our home? Will we take the narrow path? Will we produce good fruit? What is the foundation we are building on moving forward? It’s a choice, and we must make it.
During this week we are going to ponder true obedience to Jesus and what it looks like to have a firm foundation that cannot be shaken. Choosing Jesus means being a part of His Kingdom, which is radically different from the kingdoms of this world. His Kingdom is one of love, grace, mercy, and truth. May we be people who shine that light into a dark world so they may more clearly see their invitation into the Kingdom of Heaven.
