FINDING JOY WITH LESS MONEY

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28
READING: MATTHEW 6:1-4
MORNING
Start your morning with a short prayer: “God, show me how you would have me take a step to be more generous with my money today.” Journal any thoughts that come to you as you listen.
EVENING
Read Matthew 6:1-4
Reflect on your day and on Psalm 112:5-6, “It goes well for the one who generously lends money, and conducts his business honestly. For he will never be shaken; others will always remember one who is just.”

REFLECTION
Take a few moments to pray, honestly reflect, and journal on the following questions:
- As I shared my resources with someone today, what were my motivations? Was it so I would be noticed and seen as a good person?
- Did I miss any opportunities to be generous with my resources today? Was there anyone who I could have blessed monetarily, but chose not to? Why?
- What does it look like to be generous monetarily while also being a good steward of the resources God has given me? When a financial gift is not a wise response, what are other ways I could be generous in those situations?
- How can I prioritize being generous with my money in the future?
