Lust, Divorce, Oaths | Matthew 5:27-37

As you prepare for this week, we will continue reading Scripture passages covering sensitive topics: adultery, divorce, and making/breaking commitments.  Matthew 5:21-47 covers six case studies, three we discussed last week and three more this week.  As we anticipate all that God may be wanting to teach us, spend some time thinking through why we do what we do. To live the life God envisioned for us, we need to focus on more than our behaviors…we need to pay attention to our motivations behind those behaviors.  Jesus’ teaching this week will continue to invite us to redefine these deeper parts of our lives for our good…and for His glory.
