Salt & Light | Reflection
Friday, January 24
Reading: Matthew 5:14-16
Time To Reflect:
Memorizing Scripture is more than just committing words to memory—it’s about letting those words sink deep into our hearts and shape how we see the world. As we wrap up our week of meditating and memorizing Jesus’ call to be salt and light, we start to recognize His influence as the Holy Spirit transforms us, and uses us to affect the lives of those around us. It’s a powerful thing when we see His truth at work in us and can share it with others. So, take a moment to reflect and engage with these questions:
- What have I learned through memorizing this passage?
- Where do I see Jesus’ salt and light at work in my life?
Today's Challenge:
Talk with someone God has put in your life who has not yet decided to follow Jesus about what you’ve learned this week and share the passage you’ve memorized with them. Ask if they’d be willing to continue this study of the Sermon on the Mount with you and to talk about what you’re both learning each week.
Scripture Memory:
Practice reciting a few times out loud. Share what you have memorized with someone. Set one alarm each day for the next week to stop and practice. Continue until you're able to complete it consistently without looking.
