Get Ready For The Week
In this passage of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes something crystal clear: as His disciples, we’re meant to be salt and light—distinct, unshakable, and setting the pace for the world around us. It’s not a suggestion or an opportunity, it’s a calling tied to our identity as His disciples. This week, we’re locking in on part of these game-changing verses, so we can live out the radical difference He’s calling us to.
When Bob Russel preached a few weeks ago CLICK HERE, he made a strong point about the power of having God's Word locked in our minds. Remember, Jesus didn’t just talk about Scripture—He used it when the enemy tried to knock Him off course. Psalm 119:9-11 helps us put words to how vital this is.

“How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.”

Memorizing God’s Word isn’t some quick fix—it’s a spiritual discipline. It takes time, sweat, and consistency to get His Word deep in your heart. But let me tell you, when you’ve got His truth stored up, it’s a game changer. In those moments of struggle, or when a friend’s in need, you’ll have His life-altering wisdom right at your fingertips. So, no more waiting around. This week we are going to challenge ourselves to engage in Scripture memory as a spiritual formation tool. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work—because when life throws its punches, we’ll be armed with the Word to stand firm and stay on course.
