Getting Started This Week | Christian Streaker | Week 4

September 28 - October 4, 2026
Gospel Shoes
Focus of the Week:
God has given us a full set of armor to protect ourselves against sin and Satan. Yet many of us accepted the gift of salvation and stopped arming ourselves. How do we arm ourselves with the Gospel?

Getting Ready For The Week
This week we will have a guiding post with scriptures for each day focused on the overall topic for the week. Reflection questions are set for the entire week to provide time to dive deeper into scripture each day.
Notes on the practices:
Journaling and reflection both help to slow down and be mindful of what is being read. Both are similar practices; feel free to journal reflection questions or reflect on journalling questions. These are here to be a guide, not a task. Let the Holy Spirit lead you to whatever He may want to highlight for you specifically.
Getting Started:
Last week we discussed arming ourselves with righteousness - in the way we live and by God has declared us righteous through His Son. From here we shift to what is depicted by Paul as peaceful Gospel shoes. Christians have a general understanding of what the Gospel is as it is the Good News we have heard about Christ. So how is the Gospel to continue to protect us after we've accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior?
Consider how a building is constructed - its foundation is where a good amount of time is spent. If the foundation is cracked or not level, it can cause problems for the rest of the building. Wearing the Gospel on our feet is like having the surety of the strongest foundation, yet still being able to move. When we are attacked by various trials in this life, as Peter and James said to expect, our armor can help, but if our foundation is shaken, we can easily be knocked down. (James 1:2, 1 Peter 1:6-7) Even the most mature Christians must remind themselves of the Gospel so that we may strengthen the foundation upon which we stand.
So, as Christians and as the Church, our foundation is upon Jesus Christ. As we interact with each other and with those far from God, we do so with from the foundational peace of Christ. This is how we can rejoice in hardship, comfort others in the midst of our own affliction, and celebrate in times of struggle. We display who Christ is and what He has done in being rooted in Him as our foundation.
With our foundation secured, we then walk with peace and stability into the world. Knowing whatever circumstances or the outcomes of the day happen, our footing is solidly placed within our Shoes of the Gospel.
Let this be the starting point:
Ask God to show how you might become well armed with the Gospel of Peace.

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have - Jesus Christ."
1 Corinthians 3:11 NLT
1 Corinthians 3:11 NLT
Reflection
Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
- Am I fully armored with God's provision?
- Have I treated the Gospel as something to be responded to and moved on from, or to be continually reminded of?
- Is my foundation set in the Gospel of Christ taking stability and peace into each interaction?
Ready To Begin?
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
Just take the next step.
Just take the next step.
