Getting Ready For The Week
As we set out this week, we will look at the major themes and process through reflection.
Notes on the practices:
Reflection helps to slow down and be mindful of what is being read. These questions are here to be a guide, not a task. Let the Holy Spirit lead you to whatever He may want to highlight for you specifically.
Getting Started:
In a world that flaunts comparison and dozens of phrases like "keeping up with the Jones'." Christians are taught to focus more on what Jesus is teaching them, not what is happening in someone else's life.
With social media, the ever growing need to have "latest and greatest," and status symbols promoted anywhere from stadiums to shirt pockets; there's the cultural understanding that screams, "if I don't have ___ then I'm not worth anything."
Yet, Jesus said, "And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?"
Matthew 16:26a
Let us keep our eyes on Jesus that we may enjoy Him more now and forever!
Let this be the starting point:
Ask God to reveal how you might be comparing your life with someone else's. Seek to focus on Jesus more this week.

Reflection
Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
- Am I seeking what other people have or what God has for me?
- How can I be faithful to what God has called me to in a culture that demands the opposite?
- What can I do differently this week that will change my perspective on how I view myself, others and Jesus?
