The Best Things In Life | Friday

Friday | June 05

Focus of the Week:
Tithing is a discipline, but generosity is a mindset. God isn’t just teaching us how to give, He’s transforming how we think. As we shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset, we begin to trust that God is not only enough, but more than enough. This is where generosity becomes a natural overflow, not an obligation.

Scripture

Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
38Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

Luke 6:38 NLT

Living Open-Handed

Luke 6:38 reminds us that generosity is about more than just giving, it’s about transformation. Tithing may be an act of discipline, but true generosity flows from a mindset shift.

When we move from seeing life through a mindset of scarcity, where we believe there’s never enough, to an abundance mindset, where we trust that God is overflowing with provision, our hearts begin to change.

We start to give not out of obligation, but out of joy, knowing that God’s blessings are poured back into our lives, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

It’s about trusting that God is not only enough, He’s more than enough.

Take a moment and ask yourself: Where am I holding back? How can I shift from fear to trust, and let generosity flow naturally?

Reflection

Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
  • In what areas of my life am I still holding onto a scarcity mindset? How can I begin to trust God’s abundance?
  • How does my understanding of God’s provision affect the way I give, both financially and with my time and talents?
  • What small step can I take today to shift from seeing giving as an obligation to experiencing it as an overflow of God’s blessings?

Journaling Prompts

This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
  • Write about a time when you experienced God’s provision in an unexpected way. How did that shift your perspective on giving?
  • Reflect on any fears you have around scarcity, what are they, and how can you lean into God’s abundance instead?
  • Describe what living with an abundance mindset would look like for you this week. How can you start practicing that mindset today?
