The Best Things In Life | Thursday

Thursday | June 04
Focus of the Week:
Tithing is not about God getting something from us, but God doing something in us. As we learn to honor God first with what we’ve been given, we begin to grow in trust, loosen our grip on fear, and experience the freedom that comes from living open-handed.

Scripture
Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
42 “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.

More Than Just the Action
It’s possible to do the right thing for the wrong reason.
Jesus points this out clearly. People were giving, following the rules, doing what looked right on the outside, but their hearts were disconnected.
And that’s what God cares about most.
Tithing, giving, generosity, these were never meant to be empty habits. They were meant to reflect a heart that loves God and trusts Him.
When the heart is missing, the action becomes routine. When love is missing, obedience feels heavy.
God isn’t asking for perfection.
He’s inviting transformation.
He wants our hearts to be aligned with Him, not just our actions.
Because when the heart changes, everything else follows.
