The Best Things In Life | Tuesday

Tuesday | June 02

This Week's Focus:
Tithing is not about God getting something from us, but God doing something in us. As we learn to honor God first with what we’ve been given, we begin to grow in trust, loosen our grip on fear, and experience the freedom that comes from living open-handed.

Scripture

Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
6Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.

1 Timothy 6:6 (NLT)

Redefining What Is Enough

Contentment doesn’t come naturally.

Everything around us teaches us to want more, to look at what others have, to feel like we’re just one step away from finally being satisfied.

But Scripture flips that thinking completely.

It tells us that contentment is wealth.
Not having more.
Not achieving more.
But learning to be at peace with what God has already provided.

Contentment isn’t about settling, it’s about trusting.
Trusting that God knows what we need.
Trusting that what we have today is not lacking in His eyes.
Trusting that our peace doesn’t come from accumulation, but from Him.

Without contentment, there will always be something else we feel we need.
But with contentment, something shifts.
Gratitude grows.
Comparison loosens.
Peace begins to take root.

Contentment doesn’t mean we stop growing.

It means we stop striving for worth.
And that’s where freedom begins.

Reflection

Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
  • Where in my life do I feel like “it’s not enough”?
  • What might God be inviting me to appreciate instead of chase?
  • How would my mindset shift if I truly believed contentment is wealth?

Journaling Prompts

This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
  • Write about an area where you’ve been comparing your life to someone else’s.
  • Ask God to help you see what you already have through His perspective.
  • List three things today that you’re grateful for, and why.

Worship

Worship Gently Draws Our Hearts Closer To God, Deepening Our Daily Time Of Prayer And Reflection.
This song helps refocus the heart on thankfulness instead of lack.

A reminder of God’s faithfulness, even in seasons where we feel like we don’t have enough.
