Getting Ready For The Week
Focus of the Week:
Tithing is not about God getting something from us, but God doing something in us. As we learn to honor God first with what we’ve been given, we begin to grow in trust, loosen our grip on fear, and experience the freedom that comes from living open-handed.

Getting Started This Week
This week, we take the next step.
Last week, we began shifting our perspective, learning that true freedom isn’t found in having more, but in trusting God and choosing contentment.
But this week, that trust becomes visible.
Because it’s one thing to believe God provides, it’s another thing to actually live like it.
Especially when it comes to money.
In a world that constantly tells us to hold tighter, save more, and protect what we have, Scripture invites us into a different way of living.
A way marked by trust.
A way marked by surrender.
A way marked by putting God first.
Tithing can feel uncomfortable, not because it’s complicated, but because it’s personal.
It touches the places where we feel the need for:
security… control… and certainty.
And when those feel threatened, fear can quietly step in.
“What if I don’t have enough?”
“What if something goes wrong?”
“What if I need this later?”
But God doesn’t respond to those fears with pressure. He responds with an invitation.
An invitation to trust Him more deeply. To honor Him first. To experience what it looks like to live open-handed instead of tight-fisted.
Because tithing isn’t about God needing our money. It’s about God transforming our hearts.
It shifts us from:
fear → trust
scarcity → provision
control → surrender
And as that shift happens, something begins to change within us:
Anxiety starts to loosen
Fear begins to quiet
Trust starts to grow
Not because our circumstances suddenly change, but because our perspective does.
This kind of freedom doesn’t ignore real financial pressures, but it refuses to let them define us.
When we begin to trust God with what we have, even in small, intentional ways,
we start to experience the kind of peace that isn’t tied to numbers, outcomes, or security.
This is where transformation begins.

- In what areas of my life am I trying to maintain control instead of trusting God?
- What would it look like for me to take one step this week toward putting God first with what I’ve been given?
