Prone To Wander | Tuesday Copy

Tuesday | May 12
This Week's Focus: Idolatry doesn’t usually begin with rejection, it begins with distraction. In Exodus 32–33, God’s people grow impatient while waiting on Him and turn to something they can control. The golden calf wasn’t just a false god; it was a substitute for trust. This story reminds us that even after rescue, our hearts can drift. But God, in His grace, continues to pursue His people and call them back to His presence.
This week invites us to see how easily we drift, how patiently God pursues, and how His presence is what we need most.

When Waiting Turns Into Wandering
No one planned this moment.
There wasn’t a meeting where they decided to replace God.
There wasn’t a bold declaration of rebellion.
There was just a slow drift.
A little impatience.
A little doubt.
A desire for something easier to trust.
And before long, they were worshiping something they had made.
We don’t usually walk away from God all at once. We slowly shift our attention, start relying more on ourselves, and look to other things for peace, identity, or control.
Drift is subtle, but it’s powerful.
The good news? God is always ready to draw us back.

This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
