This Week's Focus: This week, we look at the women who quietly, but powerfully, kept God’s promises alive.

Scripture

Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
23It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command.

Hebrews 11:23 NLT

Faith of Moses’ Parents

Faith is often imagined as something loud and dramatic, but the faith of Moses’ parents was quiet, tender, and deeply courageous. In a time when fear ruled the land and Pharaoh’s command threatened the lives of innocent children, Moses’ parents chose faith over panic.

They trusted God when the future looked uncertain.

A mother hiding her baby. A father protecting his family. Small acts in the eyes of the world, yet heaven saw them as acts of faith.

The beauty of this scripture is not only that they protected Moses, but that they refused to let fear become their master. They lived under a powerful ruler, surrounded by danger, yet their hearts remained anchored in something greater than the king’s decree. Faith gave them courage to obey God above fear.

There are seasons in our lives when we also face impossible situations. We may not stand before Pharaoh, but we encounter anxiety, uncertainty, loss, and pressures that try to silence our trust in God. In those moments, this passage reminds us that faith is not the absence of fear, it is the decision to trust God despite it.

Moses’ parents could not see the full story God was writing. They did not know their child would one day help lead Israel out of bondage. They simply chose obedience one day at a time. Sometimes God asks us to do the same. We may not understand His entire plan, but we can trust His heart.

What you place into God’s hands in faith today may become part of a greater purpose tomorrow.

This scripture also reveals the power of godly parenting and faithful stewardship. The prayers whispered over a child, the sacrifices made in love, and the unseen acts of obedience matter deeply to God. Nothing done in faith is ever wasted.

If your heart feels weary today, remember this: God honors courageous faith, even when it looks small to others.

The same God who watched over Moses in the river watches over you with perfect care.

Reflection

Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
  • Where is God asking me to trust Him quietly and faithfully, even when the outcome is uncertain?
  • How can my everyday acts of obedience help keep God’s promises and truth alive in my home, relationships, or community?
  • What fear do I need to surrender to God this week so that faith can lead my heart instead?
