This Week's Focus: This week, we look at the women who quietly, but powerfully, kept God’s promises alive.
Scripture
Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
15Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah:… (vs.15)

Courage In The Shadows
Shiphrah and Puah don’t get a lot of attention, but their story matters more than we might realize. They were midwives, ordinary women doing ordinary work. But in one moment, everything changed.
Pharaoh gave a command that went directly against what God values...life.
And in that moment, they had a choice: go along with culture or stand firm in their faith.
They chose to trust God.
Not loudly. Not publicly. But faithfully.
They did the right thing when no one was watching. And because of that, lives were saved. A future was protected. God’s plan kept moving forward.
That’s how God often works.
He doesn’t just move through platforms or spotlight moments, He moves through people who are willing to say “yes” in the everyday. Through quiet obedience. Through small steps of faith that don’t always feel significant in the moment.
But they are.
Because every act of obedience is an act of trust. And every step of trust draws us closer to the heart of God.
Shiphrah and Puah remind us that courage isn’t always about being bold in front of people, it’s about being faithful before God. It’s choosing Him when it would be easier not to. It’s trusting that He sees, even when no one else does.
And ultimately, their story points us to Jesus—the One who would come generations later to bring true freedom. What they protected in the hidden places, God would fulfill in the open through Him.
So where does this meet you today?
Maybe your next step isn’t something big or visible. Maybe it’s a quiet decision. A step of obedience. A moment of choosing trust over fear.
Don’t underestimate that moment.
God is at work there too.
