Getting Ready For The Week

This Week's Focus:
This week, we step into a deeper reality of what it means for God to be with His people.

In Exodus 28, God establishes the priesthood, a way for imperfect people to remain in relationship with a holy God. This isn’t just about roles or garments. It’s about access. It’s about atonement. It’s about God making a way where there otherwise wouldn’t be one.

Because while God’s presence is near, there is still a tension.

God is holy. His people are not.

And yet, God does not withdraw. He provides.

The priesthood becomes a living reminder that relationship with God is not sustained by human effort, but by His provision. And through the Resurrection of Jesus, we see the fulfillment of this, Jesus as the ultimate High Priest, making a way for us to come near with confidence.

This week, we will:
  • Understand the role of the priest as a bridge between God and people
  • See how atonement reveals both God’s holiness and His grace
  • Learn to trust that God has made a way for us to remain close

No matter where you find yourself, remember this:
You are not kept at a distance. God has made a way for you to come near.

Getting Started This Week

By Exodus 28, God’s presence is established, but now comes a new question:
How do people stay in relationship with a holy God?

The answer is not “try harder.” It’s not “be better". It’s not “figure it out”.

God Himself provides the way. He sets apart priests. He gives instructions. He creates a system that allows broken people to remain connected to Him without being consumed by His holiness.

This matters more than we often realize.

Because many of us still live as if access to God depends on us. When we feel close, we assume we’ve done something right. When we feel distant, we assume we’ve failed too much. But Scripture shows us something different.

Atonement is not about earning closeness, it’s about receiving what God has already provided.

This week, we’ll explore what it means that God makes a way. We’ll see how His holiness doesn’t push us away, but actually reveals the depth of His grace.
Because the journey didn’t end at deliverance. It continues in transformation.

And God is still at work, making a way for you to stay near Him.

This video from BibleProject helps us see how God makes a way for His people to stay close to Him. It shows the role of the priesthood in Scripture and points us to Jesus, our ultimate High Priest, who opens the way for ongoing relationship with God.

Reflect

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • What does it mean to you that God provides access to Himself, not just presence near you?
  • Where have you lived as if distance from God was something you earned or lost?
  • How does knowing that Jesus is your High Priest change the way you approach God today?

Ready To Begin?

You don’t have to wonder if you belong near God.
He has already made a way.
This week, step into that truth, because access to God is not fragile. It is secured by Him.
