This Week's Focus: This week, we reflect on a powerful shift in the story of Exodus. God doesn’t just rescue His people, He chooses to dwell with them.
Scripture
Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.

Where God Meets You
At the center of the tabernacle was the Ark, and above it, the mercy seat. This is where God said He would meet with His people. In Exodus 25:22 (NLT), God says, “I will meet with you there…” The meeting place between God and His people wasn’t built on performance, it was built on mercy.
The Ark held the covenant, a reminder of God’s holiness and His standard. The mercy seat covered it, representing atonement. Together, they reveal something powerful: God doesn’t ignore sin, but He makes a way for relationship in the middle of it. His presence is not distant, it’s personal.
This means your relationship with God isn’t meant to be occasional or surface-level. It’s an ongoing, growing connection. God meets you in real time, in your questions, your struggles, your everyday moments, and as you meet with Him, He begins to shape you.
We often think we need to grow before coming to God, but Scripture shows the opposite: we grow because we come to Him.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT) says, “As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.” Growth doesn’t happen through striving alone, it happens through proximity. The more you meet with God, the more He transforms you.
That’s why the mercy seat matters so much. It reminds us that nothing stands in the way of relationship, not failure, not weakness, not inconsistency. Mercy makes space for connection, and connection leads to change.
Psalm 103:10 (NLT) says, “He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.” God isn’t waiting to push you away, He’s inviting you closer.
Because of Jesus, that invitation is still open. Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) reminds us, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
So don’t wait to get it right before coming to God. Come now, come honestly, and come consistently. Because where God meets you isn’t just where you’re accepted, it’s where you’re changed, where your faith deepens, and where your relationship with Him grows.

Reflection
Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
- What does it mean that God meets His people through mercy?
- Where do I hide instead of coming to God honestly?
- How would it change things if I trusted God’s grace more?
Journaling Prompts
This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
- Write about an area where you feel spiritually inadequate.
- What keeps you from bringing that to God?
- Write a prayer of honesty.
