Prone To Wander | Tuesday

Tuesday | April 21

This Week's Focus: This week, we reflect on a powerful shift in the story of Exodus. God doesn’t just rescue His people, He chooses to dwell with them.

Scripture

Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.

Exodus 25:1–9 NLT

Make Me a Place

Exodus 25 begins with God asking for offerings, not from obligation, but from “everyone whose heart is moved.” Before anything is built, God is forming something deeper: willing hearts. The tabernacle begins not with structure, but with surrender.

Then God reveals His purpose: “So I can live among them.” This is the heart of the passage. The God who rescued them now chooses to dwell with them, not at a distance, but in their midst.

And this happens in the wilderness.

The people are not fully faithful. Not fully consistent. And yet God does not delay His presence. He moves toward them in the middle of their formation.

This changes how we understand our own journey. The journey didn’t end at deliverance. It continues here, in learning to respond to God, to make space for Him, and to recognize that He is already near.

God’s presence is not something we earn.
It’s something we respond to.

And the starting point is the same today as it was then, a willing heart.

Not perfection. Not performance.
Just openness.

So the question becomes:
Will I make space for Him?

Not just in theory, but in the real rhythms of my life.

Because God is not distant.

He is inviting you to experience His presence, right here, right now, in the middle of your process.

Reflection

Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
  • What does this passage reveal about what God desires from His people?
  • Where do I resist making space for God in my life?
  • Do I believe God is near right now, or only when I’m doing better?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • What is one area of your life God may be inviting you to surrender?
  • What would “making space” for Him look like this week?
  • Write a short prayer of response.

Come Back Tomorrow

End Today Remembering This:
God isn’t waiting for you to have it all together, He’s already drawing near, inviting you to respond with a willing heart. As we look at where God meets us in His mercy, and discover what it means to approach Him honestly, just as you are.
