Prone To Wander | Friday

Friday | April 17, 2026
This Week's Focus: This week, we’ll learn how God’s grace meets us before expectation and invites us to trust Him in the wilderness through the hope of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Scripture
Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
19Now listen to me, and let me give you a word of advice, and may God be with you. You should continue to be the people’s representative before God, bringing their disputes to him...(vs. 19)
Exodus 18:19–23 NLT

Wisdom As Provision, Not Pressure
Jethro’s words begin with an assumption:
“May God be with you.”
This isn’t just advice, it’s discernment shaped by awareness of God.
What follows is not a system built on efficiency alone, but on alignment.
Now listen to me, and let me give you a word of advice, and may God be with you. You should continue to be the people’s representative before God, bringing their disputes to him. (Exodus 18:19 NLT)
But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten.
(Exodus 18:21 NLT)
There’s a distinction here. Moses is not called to do everything. He is called to do what only he can do.
That’s where many of us get stuck. We confuse calling with capacity. We assume that because something matters, we must carry it.
But God’s provision often looks like clarity:
This is yours to hold.
Delegation here isn’t just practical, it’s spiritual. It creates space for Moses to remain connected to God while others share the work.
Grace doesn’t just lighten the load.
It reorders it.

Reflection
Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
- What has God specifically asked me to carry?
- What have I added to that?
- How would clarity change the way I lead or live?
Journaling Prompts
This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
- List what feels like your true responsibility right now.
- What might God be inviting you to release?
- What would change if you trusted His design more than your instinct?

Prayer
Through Prayer, We Talk To God And Listen For His Guidance.
God, give me clarity to know what You’ve called me to carry and what You haven’t. Help me trust Your way. Amen.
Come Back Tomorrow
