This Week's Focus: This week, we’ll learn how God meets us in seasons where we feel off track and invites us to trust Him for daily provision through the hope of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Scripture
Scripture Helps Us Hear God And Live His Truth.
19Then Moses told them, “Do not keep any of it until morning.” 20But some of them didn’t listen and kept some of it until morning. But by then it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell. Moses was very angry with them.
Exodus 16:19–20 NLT
What This Means For Us
God had just done something incredible! He provided bread from heaven for His people in the middle of the wilderness. But He gave them one simple instruction:
Only take what you need for today.
Some people listened. Some didn’t. The ones who held onto extra were trying to make sure they’d be okay tomorrow. It makes sense, they didn’t want to go without. But what they held onto didn’t give them peace. It spoiled overnight. God wasn’t trying to frustrate them. He was teaching them something deeper:
You can trust Me one day at a time.

Learning To Trust God Daily
It’s easy to read this and think, Why wouldn’t they just listen? But if we’re honest, we do the same thing. We try to hold onto what makes us feel secure. We plan, we control, we prepare, just in case. Not because we don’t believe in God, but because trusting Him daily can feel uncertain.
So we hold tightly. But this story reminds us:
What we try to control often becomes the very thing that weighs us down.
God’s invitation isn’t to figure everything out.
It’s to trust Him with today.
- What if tomorrow is harder than today?
- What if what I have right now isn’t enough?
So we hold tightly. But this story reminds us:
What we try to control often becomes the very thing that weighs us down.
God’s invitation isn’t to figure everything out.
It’s to trust Him with today.
Reflection
Reflection Helps Us Pause, Listen, And Let God Speak To Our Hearts.
- Where am I trying to hold onto control instead of trusting God?
- What fear is underneath that?
- What would it look like to trust God with just today?
Journaling Prompts
This Is A Safe Place To Be Honest With God
- What am I holding onto tightly right now? Why?
- Where might God be inviting me to trust Him one day at a time?
- Write a short prayer releasing control to God—just for today.

Prayer
Through Prayer, We Talk To God And Listen For His Guidance.
God, help me trust You for today.
When I feel the need to control what’s next, remind me that You are already there.
Teach me to depend on You in the small, everyday moments.
You are enough for me. Amen.
