Week 07 | Friday

Friday | March 27, 2026
This Week's Focus: Freedom always comes at a cost. In Exodus 11–12, God creates a way of rescue for His people, not by avoiding judgment, but by providing protection through the blood of a lamb. The Passover is not just an ancient story; it points forward to Jesus, the ultimate Lamb, who makes a way for us when escape seems impossible.
This week invites us to see how God saves, how He calls His people to trust Him fully, and how the story of the Exodus continues to shape our lives today through Christ.
Scripture
Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 1:29 NLT

Jesus, the True Passover Lamb
The Passover doesn’t end in Exodus, it points forward to something greater: a life-changing relationship with Jesus. John the Baptist introduces Him as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). Just as the lamb’s blood marked the Israelites’ homes, Jesus’ sacrifice marks our lives with grace. His blood doesn’t protect us for just one night, it offers eternal rescue and a personal connection to God that transforms everything.
Jesus steps into our story of captivity, our sin, fear, shame, and brokenness and becomes the way to freedom. As 1 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed.” The cross isn’t just about forgiveness; it’s about experiencing real freedom and life in Him. Just as the Israelites looked to the blood on their doorposts for protection, we look to Jesus and find a life-changing relationship that covers us, frees us, and gives us hope.
Seeing Jesus as the true Passover Lamb changes how we understand freedom. It isn’t simply the absence of struggle, it’s the presence of God in our daily lives, guiding, protecting, and loving us. Trusting Him means stepping into His rescue plan, letting Him lead us out of captivity, and walking in the freedom He has already won for us. The Exodus story was just a glimpse of the ultimate rescue that is fully realized in Jesus.
Jesus’ sacrifice calls us to trust Him, follow Him, and rest in His protection every day. His blood, His life, and His resurrection invite us into a life-changing relationship where freedom, hope, and purpose are found. In Him, we are not just saved, but instead, we are transformed, loved, and empowered to live the life God always intended for us.

Reflection
Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
- How does seeing Jesus as the true Passover Lamb change the way you understand freedom and rescue in your life?
- In what areas of your life do you need to trust His sacrifice and step into the freedom He offers?
- How does knowing Jesus personally(beyond just forgiveness) impact the way you live and make decisions each day?
Journaling Prompts
This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
- Reflect on a time when God’s rescue in your life felt personal and real. How did that experience deepen your relationship with Him?
- Write about areas where fear, shame, or past mistakes still hold you back. How can trusting Jesus’ sacrifice help you step into freedom?
- Consider how Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection invite you into a deeper, life-changing relationship. How might you embrace that relationship more fully today?
Worship
Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.
This song points to the life-changing power of Jesus’ sacrifice, reminding us that it is only His blood (the ultimate Passover Lamb) that rescues us, covers our sin, and invites us into a personal, freedom-filled relationship with God.
Jesus’ sacrifice is the ultimate rescue, just as the Passover lamb’s blood protected the Israelites; at the cross, we are invited into a life-changing relationship with Him and freedom from sin, fear, and shame.

Memory Verse
Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.
"But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt."
Exodus 12:13 (NLT)

Prayer
Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
Jesus, thank You that You are the true Passover Lamb, who rescues me and offers me a life-changing relationship with You. Help me trust Your sacrifice, follow You more closely, and step into the freedom You’ve already won for me. Cover my fears, my mistakes, and my doubts with Your grace. Amen.
Come Back Tomorrow
Tomorrow we’ll reflect on what it means to walk forward into freedom that is not just rescued, but changed.
