Week 06 | Friday

Friday | March 20, 2026

This Week's Focus: Sometimes life feels stuck not because of circumstances, but because of unseen forces holding us back, fear, sin, unhealthy patterns or systems that feel impossible to overcome. Exodus 7-10, God confronts Pharaoh's hard heart with plagues, demonstrating that He is not passive in the face of oppression.
This week, we explore how God can confront what enslaves us today and make a way forward, even when change feels impossible.

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Return to Pharaoh and make your demands again...." (v. 1)

Exodus 10:1-29 NLT

God’s Power Gives Courage

In Exodus 10, God continues to show His power through the plagues of locusts and darkness. Pharaoh still refuses to listen, but God’s plan keeps moving forward. Even in the middle of chaos, God makes a clear distinction between Egypt and His people—while darkness covers the land, the Israelites have light in their homes (Exodus 10:21–23). This reminds us that God’s presence brings hope, even when everything around us feels uncertain.

What’s encouraging in this passage is God’s patience. He keeps speaking, warning, and giving opportunities to respond. God doesn’t give up easily. His power is shown not only in dramatic moments, but in His steady faithfulness. When we feel worn down or unsure, this story reminds us that God is still at work and still leading us forward.

The darkness in Egypt was thick and overwhelming, but God provided light for His people. In the same way, we may walk through seasons that feel heavy or confusing. God doesn’t always remove the darkness right away, but His presence gives us courage to keep going. His light helps us take the next step, even when we can’t see the whole path.

Exodus 10 reminds us that real courage comes from trusting God. His power is stronger than fear and greater than resistance. When we lean on Him, we find the strength to move forward with confidence, knowing that He is with us and will guide us every step of the way.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • Where do you need God’s courage right now, especially in a situation that feels uncertain or heavy?
  • How can you look for God’s light and presence in the middle of your current challenges?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • Write about an area of your life where you sense God inviting you to trust Him more. What fears or doubts might be holding you back, and what would it look like to take a step of courage with Him?
  • Reflect on a recent season that felt dark or uncertain. How did or how might God’s presence bring light, clarity, or strength as you continue to grow in faith?

Worship

Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.
This song reminds us that the same God who brought light in the darkness and authority over Egypt is still working miracles that give us courage today.

The same God who moved powerfully in Exodus is still faithful today, giving us courage to trust Him to work again even when we face darkness or resistance.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

John 8:36 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You for being our light in the darkness. Give us courage to trust You and strength to follow You, even when the way forward isn’t clear. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

Tomorrow we reflect on freedom, the joy and relief that comes when God delivers us. Be ready to celebrate what He has done and continues to do.
