Week 06 | Wednesday

Wednesday | March 18, 2026
This Week's Focus: Sometimes life feels stuck not because of circumstances, but because of unseen forces holding us back, fear, sin, unhealthy patterns or systems that feel impossible to overcome. Exodus 7-10, God confronts Pharaoh's hard heart with plagues, demonstrating that He is not passive in the face of oppression.
This week, we explore how God can confront what enslaves us today and make a way forward, even when change feels impossible.
Scripture
Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me...(vs 1)

When Change Requires Confrontation
Change often requires confrontation, with injustice, with sin, and with the patterns that quietly shape our lives. Pharaoh’s heart grew harder with each warning, yet God continued to pursue freedom for His people. In the same way, God does not ignore what enslaves us. Out of His love, He confronts it. He brings things into the light not to shame us, but to free us.
Sometimes, that confrontation feels uncomfortable. God may begin to challenge habits we’ve normalized, relationships we’ve depended on, or fears we’ve allowed to define us. Like Pharaoh, we can be tempted to resist, delay, or negotiate partial obedience. But God isn’t interested in partial freedom. He desires full release from the things that keep us from experiencing His best.
It’s important to notice that nothing God did in these chapters was random. Every plague directly challenged something Egypt trusted in, exposing false sources of security and pointing back to Him as the one true God. In our lives, God often works the same way, revealing where we’ve placed our trust in things that cannot sustain us. What feels like disruption may actually be God’s mercy, loosening our grip on what was never meant to hold us.
As you reflect this week, consider this: What might God be confronting in your life right now? Where have you felt resistance, discomfort, or conviction? Instead of pulling back, lean in. God’s confrontation is not punishment, it’s an invitation into freedom. He sees what holds you back, and He is faithful to make a way forward.

Reflection
Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
- What patterns or fears do I avoid confronting in my life?
- How might God want to challenge me this week?
Journaling Prompts
This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
- Write about one area of your life where you resist change.
- Ask God to show you the first step toward freedom.
Worship
Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.
True freedom comes only through surrender to God’s power, not temporary relief or partial obedience, as He works to break every chain that holds His people captive.
Connects by emphasizing God’s invitation to come to Him honestly and fully, instead of returning to old patterns after moments of conviction or relief.

Memory Verse
Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
John 8:36 NLT

Prayer
Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, show me where I am resisting Your freedom. Give me courage to face what holds me back. Amen.
Come Back Tomorrow
Tomorrow we reflect on trusting God’s timing even when change seems delayed. Get ready to see hope in the waiting.
