Week 05 | Wednesday

Wednesday | March 11, 2026

This Week's Focus: Sometimes God calls us to lead not because we are strong, but because He is strong through our weakness. In Exodus 4, Moses struggles with fear, insecurity, and feelings of inadequacy. God equips him anyway, showing that brokenness is not a barrier to being used by Him.
This week invites us to explore how God meets our weaknesses with His power and uses them for His purposes.

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
6 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” So Moses put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out again, his hand was white as snow with a severe skin disease. 7 “Now put your hand back into your cloak,” the Lord said. So Moses put his hand back in, and when he took it out again, it was as healthy as the rest of his body. 8 The Lord said to Moses, “If they do not believe you and are not convinced by the first miraculous sign, they will be convinced by the second sign. 9 And if they don’t believe you or listen to you even after these two signs, then take some water from the Nile River and pour it out on the dry ground. When you do, the water from the Nile will turn to blood on the ground.”

Exodus 4:6-9 NLT

God’s Presence in Our Fear

God continues to equip Moses by showing that His presence accompanies the mission. Each sign demonstrates not Moses’ power, but God’s. Moses is reminded that the call is not about him; it is about God.

Often, fear keeps us frozen. We overestimate our responsibilities and underestimate God’s presence. Like Moses, we may feel our hands are empty, our voice inadequate, our heart unsteady. God’s response: “I will be with you.”

Verse 12 reinforces this: “Now go. I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” God promises partnership, guidance, and reassurance. We are not alone.

Faith does not remove fear, it places fear in the context of God’s presence.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • Where am I trying to do life alone instead of trusting God’s presence?
  • How would I approach a fearful situation differently if I fully trusted Him?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • Write about a recent situation where fear or insecurity stopped you from acting.
  • Imagine God standing beside you, how does that change the perspective?

Worship

Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.
God’s power and presence remain constant even in moments of fear, doubt, or weakness, reflecting how He equips and works through ordinary people to accomplish His purposes.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, remind me of Your presence when fear threatens to paralyze me. Help me trust You in my weakness. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

Tomorrow we’ll dive into how God transforms our insecurities into boldness. Be ready to see your story from a new perspective.
