This Week's Focus: Trusting God with the parts of our story we wouldn’t choose

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
The man replied, “Who appointed you to be our prince and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?”
Exodus 2:14 NLT

God Doesn’t Give Up After Failure

Moses tried to help, but his actions led to fear and regret. Feeling exposed and uncertain, he ran. From that moment, it may have seemed like his opportunity was gone.

But God was not finished with Moses.

The Exodus story reminds us that failure does not disqualify us from God’s purposes. God is patient and continues to work in our lives, even when we stumble.

If you’re carrying regret or disappointment over past decisions, remember this: God is still with you, and He’s not done working.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • What past decision do you still think about?
  • How does knowing God is patient with you change your perspective?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • Write about a lesson God may have taught you through a mistake.
  • What would it look like to receive God’s grace today?

Worship

Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.

Emphasizes that the painful, unchosen parts of our story can become the very places where deeper trust in God is formed.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You for Your patience and grace. Help me trust that You are still working in my life, even after mistakes. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

We’ll close the week by reflecting on God’s timing.
