This Week's Focus: Trusting God with the parts of our story we wouldn’t choose

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
“Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses,[a] for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.””
Exodus 2:10 (NLT)

God Is at Work Before We See It

Moses’ life began in the middle of danger and uncertainty. Before he ever led God’s people, God was already protecting him and placing him exactly where he needed to be.

This reminds us that God’s work often starts long before we recognize it. Even when we feel unprepared or unsure, God is already moving.

If you’re wondering whether God is doing anything in your life right now, remember this: God often works quietly before He works visibly.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • Where do you feel unsure about what God is doing right now?
  • How does knowing God works ahead of you, bring comfort?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • Write about a time when you later realized God was guiding you.
  • What might God be preparing you for in this season?

Worship

Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.

Just as God used Moses’ unwanted and painful beginnings to shape a deliverer, we can trust Him to work through the parts of our story we wouldn’t choose to make a way for His greater purpose.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You for working in my life even when I don’t see it yet. Help me trust Your timing and Your plans. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

We’ll look at what happens when fear and mistakes enter the story.
