This Week's Focus: Trusting God with the parts of our story we wouldn’t choose

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.”
Genesis 50:20 (NLT)

God Can Bring Good From What Was Meant for Harm

Years after being betrayed, Joseph could look back and see how God had been at work. The pain he experienced was real, but it was not wasted. God used those difficult moments to bring help and provision to many people.

This doesn’t mean hard things suddenly feel easy. But it does remind us that God is able to work beyond what others intended or what we expected.

If you’re still carrying the weight of someone else’s actions, take heart. God’s ability to bring good is greater than the harm done.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • Where have you felt the impact of someone else’s choices?
  • How does this verse help you see God’s work differently?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • What situation do you need to trust God with today?
  • Where have you already seen signs of God’s faithfulness?

Worship

Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.

Celebrates God’s power to take what was painful or destructive and bring life, purpose, and good out of it.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You that You are able to bring good even out of difficult situations. Help me trust You with my past and my present. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

We’ll shift our focus to the beginning of Moses’ story.
