This Week's Focus: Trusting God with the parts of our story we wouldn’t choose
Scripture
Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
“ So when the Ishmaelites, who were Midianite traders, came by, Joseph’s brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them for twenty pieces[a] of silver. And the traders took him to Egypt.”
Genesis 37:28 NLT

God Is Still Working Through Our Stories
Joseph’s life changed suddenly and unfairly. What should have been a season of growth became a season of loss and uncertainty. From the outside, it looked like everything had gone wrong.
But God was still at work.
Joseph’s story reminds us that difficult chapters don’t mean God has stepped away. Even when circumstances feel confusing or painful, God can still be working toward something good, often in ways we can’t see yet.
If parts of your story feel unfinished or hard to understand, YOU'RE NOT ALONE. God is STILL present, STILL faithful, and STILL at work in your life.

Reflection
Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
- What part of your story feels unfinished right now?
- How does Joseph’s story encourage you to trust God with that season?
Journaling Prompts
This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
- Write about a moment that changed the direction of your life.
- What would it look like to trust God with this part of your story?
Worship
Worship gently draws our hearts closer to God, deepening our daily time of prayer and reflection.
Reminds us that even the painful chapters we wouldn’t choose, are still held within God’s faithful and redeeming plan.
Memory Verse
Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.
“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

Prayer
Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You for being at work in every part of my story. Help me trust You with the chapters I don’t understand and believe that You are still leading me forward. Amen.
Come Back Tomorrow
We’ll reflect on how God can bring good out of difficult situations.
