This Week's Focus: Trusting God When Life Feels Stuck

Scripture

Scripture helps us hear God and live His truth.
“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

When Waiting Feels Heavy

Waiting can make life feel heavy. The Israelites lived in Egypt for generations, and what began as a place of provision slowly became a place of oppression. They cried out to God not knowing when or how He would respond.

Scripture tells us that God heard them. And He remembered His promise.

That doesn’t mean God had forgotten. It means He was about to act.

God’s faithfulness is not measured by speed, but by consistency. Even when the Israelites couldn’t see it, God was working, shaping people, preparing a leader, and setting the stage for freedom.

If life feels stalled or uncertain right now, take heart. Waiting is not wasted time when God is involved.

Reflection

Reflection helps us pause, listen, and let God speak to our hearts.
  • Where does waiting feel most difficult in your life right now?
  • How does knowing that God hears you change the way you approach Him?

Journaling Prompts

This Is a Safe Place to Be Honest With God
  • Write about a time when you later realized God was working during a season of waiting.
  • What promises of God feel hardest to trust right now?
  • What might God be forming in you during this season?

Worship

Go deeper if you’d like — no pressure.
Reminds us that even when deliverance isn’t visible, God hears our cries, remembers His promises, and is already at work.

Memory Verse

Read it once a day. Let it shape how you think and pray this week.

“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Exodus 2:24 NLT

Prayer

Through prayer, we talk to God and listen for His guidance.
God, thank You for seeing me and hearing my heart. Help me trust You in the waiting and believe that You are still at work in my life. Give me patience and faith as I take the next step with You. Amen.

Come Back Tomorrow

We’ll continue exploring how God works even when the story feels unfinished.
