Reading For Wednesday | Hebrews 1:3 | 1 John 4:9 | Lamentations 3:22-23

Jesus is not just a messenger of love—He is love! God incarnate. The invisible love of God becomes something we can see. Stanza three of “Silent Night” reminds us that this love is not faint, dim, shadowed, or uncertain; it is “Love’s pure light,” radiant and directed toward all people. “In this the love of God was made manifest among us…” — 1 John 4:9

The glory of God can be seen in Jesus. It lights up the dark world as it shines brightly. The glory and goodness of God overflow with grace. Just like the mercies of God, grace is perpetually renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). It breaks in gently—hopeful, unstoppable—just like the dawn of a new day.

Christmas morning marks the beginning of God’s new and generous plan of redemption—a story that unfolds through the cross and the eternity-changing resurrection morning. Thanks be to God, salvation is accomplished!

Verse Three:

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.
