Reading For Wednesday | Isaiah 60:1-3
The theme of stanza three is the renewal of all things. This text offers hope to the deepest ache of the human heart: sin and sorrow will NOT have the final word. Through HIS crown and HIS scars, JESUS breaks the curse of shame, fear, addiction, grief, broken systems, and broken hearts. Joy becomes possible even in places marked by deep pain and suffering.
Verse Three
No more let sins and sorrows grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found
