Getting Ready For the Week
This is Vision Week—a time to celebrate all God has done and to look ahead to what He is calling us to next. Years ago, Pastor Cam Huxford cast a vision for our church to double in size every five years by focusing on “reaching our one”—the next person in our sphere of influence who needs a life-changing relationship with Jesus. Today, under Pastor Marcus Johnson’s leadership, we celebrate seven campuses reaching more people than ever before.
Sadie’s story [Click for Video] reminds us that faith can be simple, bold, and contagious. Her journey to baptism shows that when we respond to God personally and invite others in, He continues to add to His family daily, just as we saw in the early church in Acts.
As we wrap up our Devoted series, we return to the spiritual practices of the early church and the concept of a Rule of Life [Click For Blog]: baptism, daily rhythms, groups, serving, giving, outreach, worship, and reaching your one—each like a part of a spiritual house: the foundation, blueprint, framing, roof, and ongoing maintenance. Using a Rule of Life as a tool can help us stay devoted to the spiritual practices that strengthen the house of our faith, making it both full of the abundant life Jesus offers us and sturdy enough to withstand the challenging seasons ahead.
