MONDAY | DEVOTED - WORSHIP WEEK 2

Monday | Communion: Bread and Wine; Body and Blood
Worship Week 2
Monday, November 17, 2025
Reading For Monday | 1 Corinthians 11:17-34
1 Corinthians 11:17–34 does not depict the Last Supper but rather reflects back on it as Paul instructs the church on how to approach the Lord’s Table. In verses 23–26, Paul reminds believers of the meaning behind the bread and the wine—symbols of Jesus’ body given and His blood shed for us. When we partake in communion today, we participate in the same sacred gift Jesus first shared with His disciples.
The sacrament of the bread and wine serves as a tangible reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. Author N. T. Wright, in his book The Meal Jesus Gave Us, writes, “When Jesus himself wanted to explain to his disciples what his forthcoming death was all about, he didn't give them a theory, he gave them a meal.”

REFLECTION
In communion, we receive again the invitation to remember, to give thanks, and to rest in the redeeming love of Christ.
Reflect on His love for you.
- What does the death and resurrection of Jesus mean for you personally?
- Does His sacrifice evoke a sense of gratitude for the ultimate act of love?
Reflect on His love for you.
