Reading For Monday | Philippians 3:3–9

Before Paul met Jesus, his life appeared successful by every possible measure. He was disciplined, educated, respected, and zealous. But when he encountered Christ, his entire value system was turned upside down. He realized that everything he had once counted as gain was, in comparison to Jesus, worthless.

We often chase our own “résumés”—the next promotion, achievement, or possession, hoping they will prove our worth. But Paul reminds us that none of these things can make us right with God. Only faith in Jesus can. True righteousness, true peace, and true joy come not from what we do, but from who we know.

JOURNALING & REFLECTION

  • What are the “résumé items” in your own life that you’re most tempted to find identity or security in?
  • How does knowing Christ change the way you see your achievements or possessions?
  • Write a prayer of gratitude that your worth is found in Jesus alone.

PRAYER PROMPT

Take a moment to talk with God about the things you often rely on for your sense of worth. Ask Him to help you see their true value in light of knowing Christ.

“Lord, show me where I’ve been chasing identity or security apart from You. Help me to let go of anything that keeps me from finding my worth in You alone. Teach me to see every achievement and possession as nothing compared to the joy of knowing You. Thank You for calling me Your own, help me rest in that truth today. Amen.”
