Tuesday | The Blessing of Giving - Serve Week 2

Reading For Tuesday | Acts 20:35

In Acts 20:35, Paul reminds the Ephesian elders of Jesus' words: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." This teaching challenges us to see giving and serving as pathways to deeper fulfillment and purpose. While giving often brings to mind financial generosity, it also includes the giving of our time—one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding, forms of service.

Time is a precious resource. In our fast-paced world, it often feels like there’s never enough of it. The demands of work, family, and personal commitments can make it difficult to find time to serve others. Yet, when we choose to give our time, we make a powerful statement about our priorities and values. We choose to invest in relationships and community, reflecting the heart of Jesus, who always made time for those in need.

JOURNALING & REFLECTION

  • Can you recall a time when giving felt more fulfilling than receiving?
  • What intentional steps can you take to prioritize serving others over personal gain?
  • How might this perspective shift your understanding of success?

PRAYER PROMPT

Ask God to help you remain in His love and to show you simple ways to serve others this week.

"Lord, help me to see my time as a gift from You. Show me where and how I can give it generously to others. Teach me to serve not out of obligation, but out of love — reflecting Your heart in all I do. Help me to trust that in giving, I receive the deeper blessing of becoming more like You."
