Reading For Monday | John 15:9-11

In John 15:9–11, Jesus speaks of the joy that comes from remaining in His love through obedience. Serving others is a powerful expression of that obedience. When we serve, we align our actions with Jesus’ teachings, experiencing a deeper connection with Him and a joy that overflows into our lives.

Consider how obedience to Jesus’ command to love one another can transform your daily interactions. Serving others doesn’t always require grand gestures; it can be as simple as offering a listening ear, a kind word, or a helping hand. Reflect on how these small acts of service can create ripples of joy and love in your community.

As you plan your week, identify specific opportunities to serve—whether through volunteering, supporting a friend in need, or participating in a church ministry. Pray for guidance and strength to follow through on these commitments, trusting that your obedience will lead to a deeper experience of God’s love and joy.

JOURNALING & REFLECTION

  • How have you experienced joy through serving others?
Reflect on a specific time when serving someone brought you joy or a deeper sense of purpose.
  • What are some ways you can serve in your community or church this week?
Consider both small and larger opportunities where you can show Christ’s love through action.
  • In what ways have you experienced the love of Jesus through the service of others?
Take time to reflect on those who have served you sacrificially. Consider writing a note of gratitude to someone who has been a blessing in your life.

PRAYER PROMPT

Ask God to help you remain in His love and to show you simple ways to serve others this week.

“Jesus, help me to stay close to You and love others the way You love me. Show me how I can serve today, and give me joy as I follow You. Amen.”

Take a moment to listen and write down anything God brings to mind.
