TUESDAY | WORSHIP TEMPERAMENT - SERVE WEEK 2

Those with a spiritual temperament of worship thrive when around others in a corporate environment of worship. Sabbath gatherings at the local synagogues were common practice in Jesus’ day and a core practice in his life and ministry. Serving from a spiritual temperament of worship may take the form of creating space or access to help others experience the joy of worship.

Read the passage for today s-l-o-w-l-y. Enter into the scene in your mind. Allow a picture to form in your imagination. What do you imagine Jesus was teaching? What is the body language like of the religious leaders as they listen to Jesus? Does Jesus seem bothered by them? As Jesus addresses the man with the withered hand, does the atmosphere in the room change? How will worship be different for this man after Jesus’ miraculous act of service?

• On a normal Sunday when you attend a worship gathering, what are some specific ways that others serve you in order to provide you with better access to worship?
• When did you last bring someone with you to worship? What intentional decision did you make in order to provide a better experience?
• How might the Lord be inviting you to serve others through a worship temperament?
