JOURNALING QUESTIONS
Relationships can be challenging, whether with friends, family, spouses, children, or coworkers. While all relationships can present difficulties, the pain of being hurt by a friend can be particularly deep. Healthy friendships are often able to overcome such hurt due to established trust and open communication about what transpired.
- How effectively do I manage pain stemming from a friendship? Am I receptive to conversations aimed at restoring the relationship after a hurt? Do I exacerbate the hurt by responding with harsh words?
- Am I capable of admitting when I am wrong and have hurt a friend? Am I sufficiently aware to recognize when I should be the first to apologize?
TODAY'S PRAYER
“Lord, grant me discernment and gentle words to speak when I have been hurt by a friend, and when I apologize for hurting a friend. Bring to mind those with whom I need to restore a relationship, and give me your wisdom to follow through.”
