JOURNALING & REFLECTION
Reflect on today’s readings about prayer and consider a few of these questions to guide you. Make some notes in your journal as you consider WHEN and WHERE to pray. Notice from the reading: Jesus prayed in solitude in the early morning; Daniel practiced fixed hour prayer, praying 3 times a day at a specific time and in a specific place.
- Do you tend to pray more in times of crisis, or in times of peace? Why?
- How might having a regular time and place for prayer (like Daniel did) change your relationship with GOD?
- What would it look like, specifically, for you to include regular times of prayer in your week, or in your daily rhythms?
- Can you imagine practicing “continual” prayer like I Thessalonians 5:17 instructs? How do you think praying “continually” could look in your real, everyday life?
- Do you ever feel you are too busy to pray? Or maybe too distracted, rushed, angry, ashamed, or guilty? What might help you move toward GOD in these times, rather than avoiding Him?
- How might your spiritual temperament influence where you connect with GOD most?
