NEW PURPOSE & GENEROSITY
Your baptism signifies a new purpose in life—to serve others and share the love of Christ. The early church was known for its service and generosity, living out their faith in tangible ways that impacted their community and beyond. This commitment to service was a natural outflow of their love for God and their desire to see His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. They understood that their gifts, time, and resources were given to them not just for their benefit but for the glory of God and the good of others.
Jesus, describing Himself, said: “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Matthew 20:28). Part of living out our baptism in a resurrected life that reflects the life of Jesus includes using the gifts the Spirit has given us to serve others and by giving our time, talent and treasures generously for the sake of the Kingdom. This might involve volunteering in a ministry, reaching out to someone in need, or contributing financially to support the work of the local church. Even small acts of service and generosity can have a significant impact, and God can use your efforts to bring about change in the lives of others. As you embrace this new purpose, you'll find that serving and giving not only bless others but also bring joy and fulfillment to your own life, as you participate in the work of God's kingdom.
