JUST WAIT.

TUESDAY, JUNE 17

I love the way God answers Habakkuk: “Look at the nations and watch–and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told” (v. 5). He does not give a clear answer about His plans right away. He simply reminds Habakkuk to watch and wait for what He will do. This serves as a reminder to us, too, that God is in control, and we must watch and wait for His timing to unfold. Sometimes the answer is simply to wait. Tomorrow, we will talk more about God’s answer to Habakkuk. For today, though, take time to watch and wait on the Lord.

JOURNALING QUESTIONS

  • Reflect back on a difficult season. Can you see where God’s goodness was present? Spend some time praising God for His faithfulness in past seasons of suffering.
  • In what area of your life are you watching and waiting for God to move in your own life right now? How can you posture your heart to trust God’s goodness for the challenges you’re facing today?
  • Do you know someone who is in a particularly difficult situation where they are struggling to see the goodness of God in their lives? How could you encourage them today? Spend some time interceding on their behalf with the Lord.
