FORGIVEN AND NOT REMEMBERED

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4

Today’s passage finds God communing with his prophet, Jeremiah. He declares that his people will one day know him and he will ‘forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.’ God is showing his mercy and grace for his people in his forgiveness.

As Christians, may we seek to emulate this action —
  • To show mercy and grace towards those who have wronged us.
  • To allow for a way to reconcile the relationship.
  • To move forward with no memory of the iniquity which has transpired.

This is often difficult for us as we are tempted to qualify each and every wrong doing as too egregious to be forgotten

JOURNALING QUESTIONS

Take some time to reflect and journal through the following questions:

  1. Am I living as Christ has called me to live, set apart and different from this world?
  2. Have I done something so wrong to not be forgotten by God?
  3. Am I withholding forgiveness from another because I believe they have not yet received adequate punishment?
  4. Am I willing to forget?
