SET APART

TUESDAY, JUNE 3
READING: 2 TIMOTHY 2:21
SET APART!
Today’s reading is from Paul’s encouragement to his young protege, Timothy, a new leader tasked with shepherding believers who were establishing the growing church. The encouragement comes as one showing forgiveness and healing, to restore the individual. Paul encourages Timothy by showing that Jesus can redeem and transform the individual for any good work.
In today’s culture, single actions can sometimes be defining and damning, as though an individual has no recourse, reconciliation, or option to change. Whether this is done through mass public outcry or with silent removal from any contact, humanity is elevating itself to the judge’s seat, passing judgment based on a single action. God calls us to allow Him to be the righteous Judge, to let the individual be cleansed and forgiven, restored to do good work for the Kingdom of God.

JOURNALING QUESTIONS
Take some time to reflect and journal through the following questions:
- Am I living as Christ has called me to live, set apart and different from this world?
- Do I have a grudge I have held onto, keeping someone from doing a good work for the Kingdom of God?
- Is there something I need to be cleansed of to be used by God?
