IN, NOT OF

MONDAY, JUNE 2
READING: JOHN 17:14-18
IN THE WORLD, YET NOT OF THE WORLD
In today's reading, we hear Jesus praying for us. He is speaking to God and stating facts about who Christians are. He states that we are in the world, but not of the world, because we are of God. He does not ask for God to remove us from the world, but to send us out into the world and to sanctify us by HIS truth.
This prayer speaks to Christians being wholeheartedly different from the world, which we are yet to remain in for the purpose of being set apart for the work of God’s Kingdom. This means we should act, speak, and BE different so that Christ may be seen through this difference from the world.

JOURNALING QUESTIONS
Take some time to reflect and journal through the following questions:
- Am I living as Christ has called me to live, set apart and different from this world?
- Can Christ be seen in how I seek justice and transformation in the same person?
- What part might I be playing in someone else’s story?
